GRAPHICS

My father was a professor of graphic art and communication at the fine arts school in Nice (France). We lived in Vence city of arts. To make some pocket money, I worked at the Chave gallery, known for its magnificent collections of contemporary and often marginal works. Graphic designers were on display. Goetz, Tobiasse, Folon, Hélénon, Eppelé, Miro, Picasso, Klein…. made me dream as well as the paintings of my Father, of my Mother at home which you can discover on this site. I loved these atmospheres and the expressive freedom of the line, the color, the painter.
One day, I discovered while diving the greatest graphic designer in the Cévennes (France): le Gardon river. It was a shock. So many expressions underwater. All graphic, all different, all precious. The stone becomes rich in expressions upon contact with water. Shale on land is pale compared to shale underwater, shiny, expressive, gold-bearing. Water reveals shale. The Gardon river gallery is a school. Water has worked the rock intelligently and artistically much more than certain modern and easy works which often reflect a financial market more than a creative expression. Gardon river doesn’t know art and money. He is in the land of freedom and he keeps it to express himself.
